With the school holiday's fast approaching, I thought I would post a few screen free options for parents with older children.
All of these can be adapted to younger children, but sometimes it can difficult to come up with ideas that can suit younger and older children, so I thought I'd take the guess work out of it for you. So here we go.
Here are a few ideas for you to use:
- Comic book writing: Fold a paper in half and make a comic together.
- Rewrite the lyrics to your favourite song.
- Make a code: Create your own alphabetical code and write some secret notes to family members.
- Design your dream bedroom or backyard. Factor in all the materials you would need and the cost to build it. Then make a poster of power point presentation to show the family.
-Pretend to be a television presenter- Write five questions for each family member and dress up for a morning tv session. Set up chairs and microphones and record your presentation.
I think school holidays are great to have some down time with the family. Reconnecting and slowing down is so important in a world that can be very fast paced otherwise. Enjoy this special time with your little ones as it goes by very quickly.
